The Role:

Reporting to the Energy Policy, Marketing & Business Development Manager and working in partnership with the sales team, this new role will be suitable for someone with UK energy industry experience (be it sales, BD, PM, contracts, tendering, etc.) to help the business understand more about key emerging sectors. The key responsibilities are:

•       Researching and analysing market updates to identify key projects and stakeholders

•       Monitoring and analysing relevant reports from industries like Renewable Energy (RE), Electric Vehicles (EV) & Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to update the database

•       Segmentation of businesses in the above-mentioned industries based on types of projects, regulation, strategy, project timelines, etc.

•       Creating and maintaining a mapping tool with the help of your manager to keep track of key projects from inception to completion to have visibility of the market

•       Marrying the findings with opportunities and existing projects in our CRM system

•       Identifying leads in the market and communicating information of potential projects to the sales team

•       Reviewing government regulation and funding to anticipate opportunities and challenges

•       Helping in identifying topics and collating data for white papers and thought pieces

•       Creating rule of thumbs to drive and influence standardised specifications of products and tenders

•       Attending key conferences and exhibitions to be up to date with emerging technologies

•       Utilising tools like LinkedIn and other communication channels to connect with experts in the industry and gather information about projects

•       Talking to key players in the market to collect intel and establish knowledge-sharing partnerships

•       Working closely with the management team to help forecast strategic opportunities and challenges 


Skills, Knowledge & Experience:     

·      Demonstrable work experience in the UK energy industry is essential (including sales, project management, tendering or contracts experience)

·      Industry knowledge in electricity generation and distribution and having a sector-wide understanding of key players; investors, developers, contractors, consultants, etc.

·      Good online research skills; following news articles, exploring companies’ websites & blogs, LinkedIn intelligence, etc.

·      Excellent organising & analysis skills are essential to map out all information & create useful links within our business

·      Understanding of government’s schemes & funds and familiarity with balancing services, market reforms, general strategy roadmaps, etc. is a bonus

·      Confident and dynamic personality and ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels to work within a growing team and network with external stakeholders

·      A self-starter who can work independently at times with great initiative

·      Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced multitasking environment with excellent attention to detail
